Racing Two New States

While I was in Georgia and I had some time before going to St. Louis I decided to race in two states I hadn’t done yet. I found a race in Lexington, Virginia on a Saturday and one in Davidson, North Carolina on Sunday so I could do them the same weekend. Both were small town races.

When I got to Virginia on Friday I drove up to the Blue Ridge Mountain Parkway and also hiked briefly on the Appalachian Trail. Then after Saturday’s race I drove a section of the Parkway on my way to North Carolina.

The race in Lexington ran through Virginia Military Institute. There is so much history all over this great country.

After the races it was back to Athens for a few days where Clarence and I did a nice trail run, shared some more meals memories and wine and then I was on the road to Missouri with a stop in Tennessee to see Joe and Judy Palmer and see the house they were having built. It was a short visit but good to get together even though we were all in San Diego together.
