A Return to the Palmetto State

After a short stay back in Athens Clarence and I got back on the road. This time to Charleston, South Carolina to visit his friends Joyce and her family. It was a good trip for Clarence and I because we got out and did some sightseeing but Joyce was having back issues so didn’t feel up to doing any going. What she still did though with help from Clarence in the kitchen was cook and it was just as good as last time. On this trip I had my first fried green tomatoes and they were delicious. And Joyce always makes great grits.

I ran a 5K while I was there at the same park that I raced at last time. It was a well run event.

Of course Joyce cooked an amazing corned beef and cabbage meal for St. Patrick’s Day. Clarence and I went to a local pub for a green Bud Light to get the day started. I had to buy this shirt for St. Patrick’s Day because I know how much my granddaughter Haley loves unicorns and kittens.

We did some sightseeing on the waterfront that we hadn’t done last time and headed back to Athens the next day. On the way back we stopped to visit the Laurel and Hardy Museum.
